Pros:
Just wouldn't spend the bucks on a 5D to get the 12 MP resolution. The XSi came out and is fairly priced for the technology you get. My first digital SLR! Four EOS film bodies, three ""L"" lenses, and four other EF lenses = long-time film shooter! This camera is so much fun; sometimes I forget I'm shooting digital and can go in and take care of small glitches that would have been permanent with film. Resolution and clarity, even with $100 provided lens, is amazing!
Cons:
I bought two Lexar Professional 4GB SDHC cards and had formatting errors with both of them. I had formatted both cards in the camera and I thought that's what you're supposed to do. Lexar support had me go back and re-format both cards in Windows (supposedly resets card to factory specs). No problems since then.
Other Thoughts:
I tried to buy this camera for several weeks and really got the run-around from other vendors (who shall remain nameless!). In one case, they even shipped me a gray market camera after I had been specifically promised a USA kit. Newegg had the best price, came through with the promised product, and had it in stock to ship immediately = Newegg was the winner all the way! Don't fall for the low-ball internet vendors! They will bait-and-switch you and it will cost you more money than a reputable vendor. Newegg - get that 24-105L in stock so I can buy one from you!
